“What is one lie I am ready to let go of?”
Lies are sneaky. They rarely show up with flashing lights announcing themselves. Instead, they weave into the background of your life, disguised as “truth.” They sound like “This is just the way it is.” Or “I am fine.” Or “If I just keep working harder, it will finally be enough.” You repeat them so often that they become familiar — and what is familiar feels safe.
But here is the slap: safe does not mean true.
A single lie can shape entire chapters of your life. You stay in the relationship long after the love is gone because you have swallowed the lie that being alone means I am unlovable. You burn yourself out at a job you hate because you bought into the lie that success is survival. You bite your tongue and keep the peace because you have inherited the lie that conflict destroys love. These stories may have started as protection — survival strategies that helped you get through hard seasons. But now, they are cages.
And cages are heavy. Lies require constant upkeep. They demand that you contort yourself, perform, and pretend in order to keep them standing. That is why you feel drained. That is why resentment simmers beneath the surface. That is why, no matter how polished everything looks on the outside, your Spirit still feels restless.
Here is the truth: the moment you let go of even one lie, everything shifts. Suddenly, space opens where there was suffocation. Energy returns where there was exhaustion. Possibility emerges where there was only repetition. Letting go of a lie does not mean you instantly have all the answers — it just means you are no longer carrying dead weight.
You do not need to unravel every illusion at once. Start with one. One lie that has cost you peace, freedom, or authenticity. Name it. Look it in the eye. And then release it — gently, ruthlessly, whatever it takes. Because once you do, you will realize you were not protecting yourself by holding onto it. You were betraying yourself. And now, you get to be free.
