Waiting as a Gift
Most of us experience waiting as irritation.
Waiting in line.
Waiting in traffic.
Waiting for a reply.
Waiting for something to happen so we can finally move on with our day.
We treat these moments like obstacles between us and where we want to be. Time to be endured. Time to be filled. Time to escape through our phones.
But what if waiting is not in the way?
What if waiting is the invitation?
These quiet, in-between moments are some of the only spaces in your day where nothing is required of you. No decisions, no performance, no responsibility, just stillness.
And stillness is the perfect place to practice the words:
I love you. I am sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.
Instead of fighting the pause, you use it. You let the delay become a clearing. You allow the stillness to wash through whatever you have been carrying.
Something subtle shifts when you do this.
Waiting stops feeling like wasted time.
It becomes sacred time.
By the time the line moves, the light turns green, or the message arrives, you are lighter than when you started.
Not because the situation changed.
But because you did.
Waiting is not an inconvenience.
It is a hidden doorway back to peace.
